Default Table Mesa Rd to Black Canyon City...
Is there a way to get to Black Canyon City from Table Mesa Rd? I'm ultimatley trying to get up to crown king rd. from black canyon city which I think I can do via Maggie mine rd....just trying to figure out how to get there from table mesa rd.

Also is there a way to get to the north end of lake pleasant fro
Table Mesa rd as well. I'd like to show the family the lake/views if I can get to it from there.

Thanks in advance

I don't know about Black Canyon City, but you can, or at least used to be able to, get from Table Mesa Rd. to Crown King. If you go toward Tip Top, about 2 miles before you get there, is a road that takes off to the north along Boulder Creek. The road connects up to Prescott FR52D, which is Horse Thief Basin Rd. From there, you can continue past the lake and on to Senator Highway which will take you to CK.

There are some spots from Table Mesa Rd., as it's climbing up from the river where you can see south to Lake Pleasant. If you can still get on Cow Creek Rd., you can get to the lake, but I think it's closed at the park boundary.

when you go towards tip top on the north loop...stay right when you get to the coral. follow the main road and you will end up coming down that dirt road from the west side of BCC. part of the road is on the black canyon trail. it is a 2 track but it might be registered as equestrian (rumor?)

from there head north like you planned and you will get to bumble bee road. if you like a little more adventure, go the back way to cleator

The "road' up Boulder Creek is a pretty good challenge especailly coming down the hill into Milk Ranch. Now the Tip Top trail from Milk Ranch to Horsethief Basin is another story.... it is difficult single track and very hard to find on the bottom without GPS tracks. Take pictures if you try it. Here are some from when I did it

You can go from Table Mesa Rd to Black Canyon City at the river crossing by going up the river. Sometimes this is not possible when the river is up or after a flood. IF going up the river is not possible and if you can get up the river from the crossing maybe less than a mile, keep looking on your right for a trail that goes up the hill. Take this trail which leads you into a small canyon. Stay on this trail in the Canyon till it ends, this puts you along the side of I-17 just south of Rock Springs which is next to Black Canyon City. I involves some highway riding but not much. Black Canyon City is a quad friendly town as most of the town people have quads, even little ole ladies go get the groceries on their quads. Seen lots with no plates. http://picasaweb.google.com/dubiousd...56090829292034
