Default Broken Drive Belts on Rhino
Anyone have drive belt issues. I have an 06 Rhino, 4 seater full cage longtravel..New cdi and sheave. It seems that since I have put the new sheave in I get about 400 miles out of a belt before it explodes. Prior to the long travel and sheave I got 1800 miles from a stock belt. and it didn't even break. just changed due to age. Anyone else have any problems like this....I'm thinking about putting a stock sheave back in.

it could be a few things. what belt did you use? i dont use after market they will break oem only at least for the belt. what sheave are you using if it is a machined one sometimes they take out to much and the belt will rub on the housing. also is the belt slipping? you could have a roller out of place or got grease on it.i have had 2500 miles on mine when i chaged it just to be safe. i know others with over 4000 miles with no problems. really depends on how you ride.

I changed mine out at about 5000 miles. It was hardly worn at all, so I keep it as a spare just in case. I installed a machined sheave also when I changed the belt, so well see how that goes. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary and things are actually quite smooth whether on the street or the trails.
