Default looking for desert bloom ride east of Mesa?
Hi everyone,
My parents are here and I hope to get them out on a good ride east of Mesa somewhere with some good desert blooms, flowers, etc...
We are up in Globe. Has anyone been out and noticed any good areas for flowers? Thanks

It is NE of Mesa off of Ellsorth Rd. or Beeline Highway. You need a special access permit (free) from the Tonto Forest Service office in Mesa.

You might try south of Highway 260 SE of Florence Junction. Need a State Land permit though.

Last Friday, I passed by the Goldfied area (southwest face to Superstitions) and the colors were coming out then. Shadows from the clouds were playing a symphony of colors on the desert floor carpet.

Follow the signage for Canyon Lake from Hwy 60 and go north out of AJ. You should get all the colors you're looking for.

Another good bet is the Picacho Peak area.
