Maybe Vader can post some video showing the backfiring, 2001 raptor, with a 230lb rider, beaten off the line then pulling up behind and passing the predator in question.

I found that the wire from the stator was pulling out of the plug. The coil was not getting power, and the bike was missing big time. I did not find problem until getting home.
I kinda feel bad about hijacking this thread, but at least were talking about duning and racing on this website instead of the rules of the open road.

Hopefully it didn't cause any damage??? Doesn't matter what someone rides, "almost" No one deserves to break down or have problems.

The only damage it caused was ruining all the other people in my groups rides, because they all came back to camp with me to try to get it going. After it did not work some people packed up to leave because that was the last ride of the day. The next morning it was too windy so everybody packed up and left early. The craptor ruined a perfect 3 day weekend in the sand.

Speed limits are not LAW they are a safety guideline for all weather and traffic conditions.
Brilliant.
Ever gotten a ticket for a "guideline"??
Now how on earth can I be expected to refrain from further comment with this sort of thing being said???
I have gotten 14 tickets and have been convicted twice. I didn't convince the judge my speed was safe and prudent on those two convictions.
FOURTEEN TICKETS? You're a menace to society. You shouldn't be operating a vehicle. Obivously, your time and convenience is much more important than other motorists' (and their families) safety.
Un-freaking-believable. And because you've eluded justice successfully, you think that means the LAWS don't pertain to YOU? That doesn't change anything. All that means is that you (or someone you PAID) found you a flaw in the system for you to WEASEL out of.
This is EXACTLY the "California cancer" mindset I was referring to. They're better than everyone else: common courtesy, decency, LAWS- none of that applies to THEM. They're "special" people, because of where they come from, or because they drive a more expensive car, or their lift kit is taller, or whatever. We're all just pissants here, a bunch of yokels who need an education on what life's REALLY supposed to be about.
This is the mentality that's destroying our way of life here.
It's no wonder LEO's (I mean GEO's- GUIDELINE enforcement officers) have such high levels of job frustration, divorce, etc. This is the kind of mentality they have to deal with on a daily basis. They catch someone red-handed, take the time to go to court when people fight their offense (on their days off much of the time), and the people walk over an un-dotted i or un-crossed t. My hat's off to you, public servants. You have much more patience and understanding than I.
I guess I'm old-fashioned. I recognize things like the speed limit for what they are- the LAW, and I will accept the consequences if I get caught breaking it. It's called "accountability". It used to be a mainstay in our society, now it's always someone else's fault. "My daddy called me bonehead one time, therefore it's HIS fault! I can't be held responsible!"
Unreal.[V]
California cancer?
All those tickets were in Arizona while i lived there. Don't put your overblown label on me.
Most of those citations were for 7-9 miles over the posted limit. Now are you going to tell me YOU NEVER SPEED? Get off your soap box. I just threw a big arse hypocrit stone through your glass house.
Do i speed in residential areas? NO
Do i exceed the limit in school zones? NO
Do i race in and out of traffic during rush hour? NO
When do i speed? When traffic and weather conditions permit.
How many accidents have i had? NONE
Have you seen those buttheads that fly by all the RV's and trucks with huge laden trailers leaving the dunes? None of those are me. That is dangerous and I don't want to have an accident.
On my drive to and from the Naval station h

If you'll review the thread, you'll see that I NEVER said I don't speed. I DID say that I accept the consequences if caught. In summary, you can't spell "hypocrite", and in this case, I ain't one. And my house is brick, by the way.:D

That's funny- I drive EXACTLY the same way, and I haven't even been pulled over since 1990. So, you're either a liar (about how you drive), or the unluckiest S.O.B. I've ever seen. If I was you, I'd stay on the boat during the next "hostile situation" you're involved in.
BTW- thanks for showing the courtesy and respect of abiding by the speed limits in residential areas and school zones. Those are two of my biggest pet peeves.

Me either. I tow at 65-68 in AZ, and 55-58 in CA. (the CA part is me admitting to speeding, as the CA speed limit with a trailer is 55).
quote:And as far as accountability. Take the time to do some research and you will find that those laws about max speed are just guidelines to encompass all driving conditions to maximize public safety. ITS A FACT
Take the time to do some research.
Not buying it. If they were just "recommended", NO TICKETS would stick in court. You're just bogging down the courts when they could be dealing with real criminals. If you're so big on accountability, be a man, pay the fine, and wait to get stopped again.
quote:DAYS OFF? HAH! They get paid to go to court. Its part of their JOB.
Whether they get paid or not is immaterial- they give up their FREE time to ensure people are held responsible for their actions.

Kind of like getting shot at by hostile combatants is part of mine.
This argument is part of why I love my career. I am defending your right to your opinions. i don't have to agree with them. Just respect your right to them and your right to voice them. Just like you have to tolerate my opinion and unaccountable(in your opinion) driving habits.
Enjoy your freedom many of my brothers and sisters died to make sure you enjoy it.

Hey toybreaker...since the speed limits were enacted by legislation guess what??? They are LAWS...you better read up on a few things...NTSB set an 85 mph speed limit but each state sets their own below that. I think (like az350x) that you are a menace to society and need "social re-education".

If they were in fact laws why did i not get convicted all 14 times?
All those tickets were from 1997-2001 when i worked night shift.(how many bored police officers are there at 3:30 - 4:30 am in tempe and mesa?) I found every speed trap form guadalupe and kyrene to stapely and southern during that time.
As far as being a seaman you are incorrect.
The Navy and Marines have some similarities. Every marine is a rifleman. Every sailor is a firefighter.

Bet you don't speed on a military reservation do you? You brag about those 14 tickets like your proud to have gotten them. Why are you disrespecting your uniform and your Commander-In-Chief like that?

I am not bragging about them. I am stating a fact. I got cited 14 times. i went to court 14 times. i had to pay fines twice.
Do i speed on base? Absolutely. Usually around 30mph. Limit posted is 15-20. Have I gotten a ticket for it? Never.
Disrespecting my Commander in chief? Thats rich. He pretty much does that well enough on his own. He doesn't need my help.
Disrespecting my uniform? Don't see how that is possible by speeding and getting tickets while i was a civilian.
